Cathy Hively-Hughes Legacy Fund
Mrs. Hughes was an asset to agricultural education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Cathy inspired students on a daily basis as she taught agriculture education at Chancellor High School in Fredericksburg and John C. Myers Middle School in Broadway. She retired from teaching Agricultural and Environmental Science at Massanutten Regional Governor's School in Mt. Jackson. Mrs. Hughes has been recognized with numerous well-deserved awards for excellence in teaching. Mrs. Hughes was an active member and served offices in the Broadway FFA Chapter, Rockingham Federation, and was president of the Virginia State FFA Association in 1982. She traveled to Europe and Japan through the National FFA Experience abroad Program and received both State and American FFA Degrees. Cathy was also presented with the Honorary American Degree for her work teaching agriculture and advising FFA Activities. The Cathy Hively Hughes Legacy funds state officer plaques and awards annually.
